The European, Melbourne

There are a lot of hipster cafes in Melbourne but the European was a great cafe for something a bit different. The European seemed to have an older crowd that was more laid back. I was seated inside which seem to be in a slightly darker room right across from the bar. So if you are looking for a more laid back and quiet cafe after a big night, this might be more ideal.

With a few gal friends, we stopped by and we could not resist ordering the Baked Turkish Eggs, Chickpea, imam bayildi and labna for $19.50. Imam Bayildi is braised egg plant stuffed with onion, garlic and tomato. The labna is a cooling yoghurt type texture which was perfect with the imam bayildi. It was very hearty along with the baked eggs. A very filling breakfast.

My friend ordered the Toasted nut and seed bread with poached egg and avocado at $15.50. The egg was perfectly poached and I am a big fan of avo on toast. There was also fresh juice available which was quite nice.

Prices: $20ish for breakfast
Location: 161 Spring St, Melbourne
Opening Hours: 7:30 am to late

Summary: Lisa's Rating:

Customer Service: 7/10
