I get the opportunity to dine with a bunch of foodies at Otto Ristorante. With great conversation and food talk, I am looking forward to a gorgeous dinner which is showcasing some of the great food that Otto will be presenting at the Taste of Sydney Festival in 2016. To start, I am spoilt with a lovely anti pasti dish of Proscuitto, stracciatella cheese, figs and a sweet balsamic (below, $27). It's sweet, savoury and starts to stir the senses.
The highlight of the meal at Otto Ristorante is the signature dish of Spagetti all'Aragosta ($110, above) which is a 650g Tasmanian crayfish, spagetti, brandy, napolitana sauce, tomatoes and baby basil. It's a portion that's easily shared for two. The crayfish is so succulent and fresh. It's lovely.
For non-seafood lovers, you may opt for the Risotto which is made from rice, spinach, cavolo nero and goat's cheese ($36, above). It's very well done and tastes homely. I also quite liked the gnocchetti sardi "osso buco" which is safron infused pasta, braised beef shin, tomatoes, gremolata and ricotta ($38).
To really complete the meal, I had the coconut panna cotta, with crumble and coconut gelato ($18). It was perfection, with great soft and crunchy textures. That gelato was so delish.
Amazing! I had such an amazing meal at Otto Ristorante and I'd love to come back. You may have to really save up your $$ but the quality is great.
