It's been a long time coming but I have finally lost my HSP virginity. HSP stands for Halal snack pack. I first heard of HSP on facebook but more recently has been made popular in reference to an interview with Pauline Hanson.
QUICK REVIEW: Well as I walked into Sofra in West Ryde, they had big signs about the Halal Snack Pack but most of the locals seem to be ordering kebabs.
So what is a Halal Snack Pack you ask? The bottom layer consists of chips. Then secondly, it's piled on with your choice of meat (I choose beef) then it's topped with sauces (I choose the chilli and garlic sauces). Sofra in West Ryde makes their own chilli sauce and it's really chilli!
I'm struggling to handle the heat / spiciness of the chilli of this particular HSP. The chips are really crunchy which is ace. The size I ordered is $10 (above, below). I suggest eating with a fork!
Overall, I had a pleasant HSP experience. It's a lot of food actually - more of a meal than a snack. I can see why people are big fans of this meal. It might be a bit too much for me to eat often but I'd happy order this again (maybe with less chilli.
