Selah - Circular Quay (NOW CLOSED)

Roast rack and belly, potato & carrot gratin, silverbeet & shitake

Fillet of beef tenderloin, celeriac puree, caramalised shallot & watercress

Broccoli,almonds and red chilie

When you're looking for a quiet dinner, accompanied by a good glass of red and an array of tasty food - come to Selah. I had the lamb this night and it was amazing.  The other accompanying side acts on the plate were delicious, providing different textures to excite that mouth of yours.  I was told the beef was divine. Yumm

I didn't quite understand how the flavours and textures of broccoli, almonds and red chillie come together but I thought we'd give it a try.  Perhaps my brain had too much prejudice in this instance because it did not work for me. What a random side dish! Broccoli does not go with almonds or chillies.

Overall a great place to dine in. It's inviting, warm and cosy inside.

Great company always helps too.  Although I did have a mini bar crawl after this and ended up drinking way too many cocktails.  But it was good, a lot of great smaller bars have opened up in Sydney!  Must drink water!!!!! Great night with M.I.K.E (Canadian African Korean)

Mexico - Surry Hills, Sydney (Closed for now)

Soft Tortillas with guacamole -Yummo Entree

HOT HOT HOT Chipotle taco- but so good.

Chorizo with half dried grapes

Sauces baby!
I really liked this place.  The carafe of plum margaritas goes down well with the delicious treats of Mexico's sexy dishes.  It is a modern twist on mexican food - it's like fancy mexican :)

The place is buzzing and packed so come early if you want a table.  Try the specials as my favourites were definitely the soft tortillas with guacamole and the chipotle taco was AMAZING.

Alternatively sip a few sneaky drinks at the bar and enjoy the atmosphere. Once of the better places to be in central.  I came here with Matt and we both agreed we'd have to come back to try more of the dishes.  The food for some reason got us talking about Australia's national anthem and tested whether we knew the second verse! Yes we were singing :)

South Coast Adventures: Culburra Beach

My friend invited a group of friends to Culburra beach for a weekend to celebrate her 30th Birthday.  I had never been to Culburra Beach before so I was looking forward to it. We rented this gorgeous house called the Pavilions House which was right on the beach.

Longueville Hotel - Lane Cove

Tapas with a side salad

Chicken Burger

Fish of the day - Barramundi with Bok Choy
A sunny afternoon and a short stroll to the longueville hotel.  This pub knows how to deliver on tasty lunches with a touch of class that you wouldn't get at most other pubs.

Lane Cove is a bit of a random location for me to get to but I thought it was a nice venue for a leisurely catch up with old friends.

I met my back up husband's (Mark) girlfriend for the first time when I had lunch at the Longueville.
I told him I better replace him with another back up husband now that he's taken :P

Miso - World Square, Sydney

Karaage Chicken and Edamame

Pork Katsu set

Unagi Set
Miso is the perfect place to eat with your eyes.  The presentation of food stimulates all sorts of senses. The bento box gives you a nice variety of textures and bits and pieces to eat.

My favourite dish is the Unagi set.  It's actually quite a lot of food so consider it a big lunch or big dinner.  This place isn't really known for it's sashimi, it's more the cooked food that you should focus on.  Buy a bottle of wine from downstairs in world square and you're set.

It's very bright in the restaurant so be warned for those who prefer darker places

I've been here a million times including one time when I caught up with my friend Chris and I was also meant to be meeting this other girl because I found her wallet on the street.  I looked up the girl's details on facebook and msged her.  We arranged to meet at Miso so I could return the wallet. I got way too caught up talking to my friend Chris who was moving to the United States. Meanwhile she rang me a million times and I didn't pick up.  Eventually she got a friend to walk into the restaurant and got the wallet! Awkward!

Sorry about that random story.

The Eight - Haymarket

Assorted dumplings
The Eight is like a beacon of hope when you are severely hung over.  Wear sun glasses, drink delicious tea and gorge on hot little packages of deliciousness.

I love the dumplings here. I love the mango and prawn crumbed dish.  I love the mango pancakes. Love love love love love love love love love :) I wish I was there now!

I am such a sucker for yum cha.  I love it.  The Eight is my favourite yum cha restaurant at the moment.  It's closely followed by the fish markets and then probably Sky Phoenix.

Thanks to Mel for taking me here and putting up with my hung over antics over several occassions

Chef's Gallery - Sydney

salt and pepper spinach tofu

Handmade noodles wok fried with prawns in chilli prawn paste

This place is refined city for hand made noodles and other chinese delights.  It's very popular so I suggest you get in early or book.

I went with my friend Mel and we had the salt and pepper spinach tofu and the hand made noodles with prawns. The tofu was delicious, a great dish to share.  The noodles were tasty but I think I prefer chinese noodle restaurant in China Town. Delicious after my horrible matchu experience.

It's refined but comes with the slightly higher price tag. It still has it's place; being tasty and being able to compete with the other hand made noodle, dumplings and other chinese eateries in Chinatown.
