Nick's Seafood, Darling Harbour

Seafood lovers looking for a waterview in Darling Harbour's popular district know that Nick's is the place to go. My friends and I decided that it would be better to order a la carte rather than one of their seafood platters.  We wanted a non-fried experience so it worked out well.

Hervey Bay Scallops $21
Overall, I had a really great experience. Great customer service, tasty food and a nice atmosphere.  The scallops were fresh and tasty but my preference would have been to have them served at a warmer temperature and varied garnish. Some additional herbs with the warmer temperature would have made them perfect. The classic salt and pepper squid was tasty. The plate looked slightly naked though so again, some salad shavings would make it more visual and worthwhile. The crab was beautiful with the avocado.

Salt and Pepper Calamari $19.50

Alaskan King Crab Salad $24

Fresh Mussels with tomato chilli sauce $19
My two favourite dishes were the mussels and the prawns. The mussels were perfectly cooked in a lovely tomato chili sauce.  The garlic prawns were infused with full flavour.  Be careful if you dip your bread into the oil as it's hot in temperature. The dessert was nice but the surface of the brulee was slightly burnt.

Fresh seafood produce with water views will attract the appropriate price tag but if you bring your entertainment card and you can make a nice dent on that bill.  We were sitting outside (mid-way between right by the water and inside) in Winter but they had these awesome heaters that didn't make you feel the cold!

Prices: $135 for 5 entrees and two glasses of wine. Bring your entertainment card if you have one for 25% off up to a maximum of $45
Garlic Prawns - $21

White Chocolate and Raspberry Creme Brulee $14
