The Commodore Hotel has been renovated so it's got a fresh beer garden. It has a wooden, modern outside feel which is perfect for a meal and a beer.
My vegetarian colleague who was departing ordered a very good looking dish. The beetroot, walnut and feta ravioli at $20 looked delicious! The ravioli had a sage butter sauce with pieces of roast beetroot, a sprinkle of walnuts and pistachio and goat's cheese. There was also a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. It looked very fancy for a pub meal.
As I was in the beer garden, I felt compelled to order the classic Angus Beef Burger at $18. The beef burger had layers of bacon, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, pickles, mustard, ketchup and mayo. It came with a very large side of chips. So nice pub burger. Not quite as foodgastic as Chur Burger but still a nice burger.
I had massive food envy though for my colleague's chicken burger which had cheddar, bacon, coleslaw with a ranch sauce (which was also $18).
Prices: About $20 for mains
Location: 206 Blues point Rd, North Sydney
