Wild Rover,Surry Hills
The Wild Rover is a cosy, hidden bar that is full of character. All the staff are lovely, lively and welcoming. It's a great venue for a few beers with some good friends or a sneaky drink before dinner on a date.
It's a dark venue with a big door out the front. You wouldn't know this venue existed because it's quiet and without signage. I always get ID and I'm getting to the age where I actually like being carded.
Inside, both downstairs and upstairs are old skool rail signs. They make for quite rustic, historical but funky signs. Downstairs, there are booths or you can sit at the bar.
Upstairs there are tables and stools to sit on. I always end up drinking their house pale ale which is served in a silver mug. It's fun to drink like an old man back in the country of Irrreeeeeland. What's the craic?
