The Choc Pot originated in Burwood and is now rapidly expanding to Chatswood and coming soon is Regent Place (Sydney CBD). They are known for their chocolate fondant but also have other treats such as crepes and waffles. The Chatswood arm is part of "the District" which is above the train station. The District is like a fancy food court! The Burwood chain is a more intimate setting.
I ordered a cookies and cream milkshake ($8) as well as an earl grey french tea ($5) to accompany my treats. I love a nice tea to cut through the chocolate.
I decide to order the Waffle with strawberries covered in chocolate sauce ($14, above photo and below photo). A chocolate waffle is hard to resist. The waffle is a bit crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. There is a generous serving of sliced strawberries and a generous serve of chocolate sauce. I also suggest ordering a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream ($2.50) to accompany the waffle to make it amazing. The ice cream will just cut through the richness of the chocolate. Prepare for some chocolate lickin' fun.
The signature dish of the choc pot though is the chocolate fondant ($12 below, and top photo). This is my favourite dessert because it makes you feel so warm on the inside as you dip the spoon into the fondant and eat that lovely mixture of cake and chocolate oozing sauce. I'd definitely recommend this dish!
So if you haven't checked out Choc Pot yet; come along and try it! It's my new favourite dessert chain!
