High Quality cafes are hard to find in the suburbs. Cherry Beans Coffee Roasters in Rydalmere is an absolute hidden gem. This pulled pork burger was amazing!!
Cherry Beans Coffee Roasters is a trendy warehouse cafe located in the industrial/suburban area of Rydalmere. It was totally unexpected to see such a nice cafe in the burbs. You no longer have to travel too far into the inner West or the city to experience some cafe heaven. Coffee lovers will be pleased to know that the cafe has access to the freshest roasted coffee. You can see the coffee being roasted in the cafe.
The decore is spacious and pram friendly. I see a dog bowl outside so Cherry Beans Coffee Roasters would also be pet friendly. More importantly, the food is pretty delicious. There's an all day breakfast and lunch menu to choose from.
I check out some breakfast dishes firstly, I order the Egg Michelle ($10, below) is a decadent roll filled with scrambled eggs, caramelised onion and cheese with mayo. You must eat this burger style to make sure you get all the flavours in one hit. I started eating bits of the egg separately with a knife and fork and it didn't quite work compared to when I went for it in one big bite. There's something really indulgent about the cheese, sweet caramelised onion and egg. This dish draws inspiration from the American "Egg Slut".
I'd also recommend the chocolate milkshake or one of their fresh juices. The chocolate milkshake has the perfect amount of chocolate and gelato - that's right - Head Chef Shane uses gelato! Yummy.
Oh yeahhh look at that Egg Michelle (above).
I also try the Corn Fritters (above and below, $15) with tomato relish, poached egg, avo and salad. I think these are the best corn fritters I've ever had. They were nice and crunchy on the outside and full of tasty corn and vegetables on the inside. The corn fritters perfectly complemented the egg, avo and tomato relish. A major recommend!!
Burger lovers will also love Cherry Beans in Rydalmere. The pulled pork burger ($15 above) was total food porn. The pulled pork is cooked for 4 hours in a pressure cooker so it's very delicate and very melt in your mouth. The cheese with all the trimmings make the burger perfect. The chips are nice and crispy.
Overall, I had such a great time at Cherry Beans. I did not expect such a nice cafe in the middle of Rydalmere. I would go here over Big Tree House if you're a local as the portion sizes are better and there's more space. There's an all day breakfast which is handy and those burgers are to die for.
Prices: $10-15 for most breakfasts and mains
Opening Hours: 7am to 4pm weekdays, Saturday 7am to 3pm
Location: 62 South St, Rydalmere
Shane, Chef and Owner invited Weekendfoodescapes by Lisa to visit this hidden gem as a guest. All words, opinions and photos are my own.
I definitely dream about going to this party place again. The live music at San Francisco venues was an added bonus, providing a backdrop for the fun hours spent imbibing, tasting, and chatting up with the breweries and beer distributors.
