The Bella Vista Hotel has an upmarket bistro perfect for a family lunch. Their new menu is now out so if you're a local, come and check it out. How tasty does this beef sirloin look?
The Bella Vista Hotel is located in surprise surprise - Bella Vista. As I enter, I notice the sleek decore and a small group of women drinking champagne in a booth. What a life!!
There's also a huge bar right by the bistro (above). I look at the specials menu and am immediately tempted. I also look at the main menu. The bistro is probably a bit more pricey than your average pub however there's not as much competition in the area. You'd have to travel a bit before you got any decent comparable venues.
With any dishes from the "grill menu", you also get a choice of a side of greens, salad, mash, potatoes or chips. The 300g Riverina Sirlion is absolutely gorgeous and perfectly cooked. The sirloin sits on a bed of balsamic vinegar caramelised spanish onions and grilled celeriac. I would have ordered a side of chips but I was feeling too full (this was my second lunch of the day).
For a lighter dish, I highly recommend the Pan roasted barramundi, (below $36, with a choice of a side) and if you are a fan of mussels then you can add them(add $7). The crispy skin barramundi sits on a lovely buttery sauce and I absolutely love mussels.
Price: $26-$40 for mains
