It's Friday night after work, and to start the weekend on the right note, Melle and Dazz head out for a casual dinner and drinks at Next Door CBD.

Located in the most unassuming York Lane just off Erskine St, Next Door CBD is a secret gem, leveraging authentic foodfare from their neighbouring and Made in Italy kitchen, renowned for serving food on outdoor tables and milk crates.

Next Door CBD in comparison is an indoor bar and restaurant with ample air-conditioning seating.

The hip hop-esque murals on the walls, along with cool throwback 90’s music give it a fun and chillaxed atmosphere.

We arrive and happy hour is on from 5-6pm at Next Door CBD, with Fridays promoting $5 Peroni’s and $5 wines which look popular.

We eye off the Girl Next Door cocktail ($18) which is sheike and well balanced cocktail with refreshing watermelon notes that isn’t too sweet. The food arrives quickly which is exactly what we need straight after work.

The Gamberi pizza ($18) has a thin, crisp dough with a good dose of prawns, chilli flakes and garlic that hits the spot.

Feta salad ($15) is a generous side dish, served with dressing and a tasty quality chunks of feta that isn’t too salty.

We opt for the Mamma Mia ($18) penne pasta and it is hands down our favourite dish, with chunks of italian sausage meatballs, mushrooms and a spicy napoletana sauce with a dash of cream. Highly recommend.

Overall a fun and laid-back street vibe with decent drinks and a tasty feed – perfect for an after work wind-down with friends or workmates.
