On another quiet night, I decide to order some delivery the from Epping. I hadn't tried Rang Mahal before which specialises in Indian cuisine.
MW wants to try Rang Mahal because it's different but I want Thai. We end up ordering up a feast from Rang Mahal. The food from Rang Mahal arrives on queue approximately an hour later.
There's one dish missing that we ordered. I call up Rang Mahal and they advise that they will send it out to us. The dish arrives approx 45 minutes later and the shy delivery guy softly says sorry for that. The food is not as hot in temperature than anticipated but upon reflection, I did spend a good 10 minutes trying to call the restaurant trying to sort out the missing dish.
There's a great for value deal with Rang Mahal which is the family pack. It includes 2 vegetable samosas, 2 pieces of chicken tikka, butter chicken, lamb rogan josh, 2x plain rice, 2x naan, 1x raita and 1x pappadums. The family pack is $45.
If you don't order one of the special deals, they currently have a 20% deal for your first order as well.
I love me some pappadums and naan bread. The butter chicken has a strong tomato base and taste different to other butter chicken that I've tasted before but I quite like the difference.
The chicken tikka is also mildly spiced and goes well with a bit of rice. The lamb rogan josh is a little bit bland but the meat is well cooked.
In summary, I think the family deal at Rang Mahal is high on value however I think there are some improvements that need to take place for Rang Mahal with their attention to detail in forgetting one dish. I think the food has potential but given the intense competition in delivery, I'm not certain if I will be back.
