Monte Alto is located on the pacific highway right near the main strip of Crows Nest shops. It's a modern cafe made for coffee lovers who can't resist unique and international ingredients. I stop by for some breakfast one lazy Sunday morning.
I notice a big sign saying you can get a discount as an opening special for the cafe and also a little leaflet saying if you review them on zomato, trip advisor or google you can also get 5% off. Their coffee menu is quite extensive from salted caramel iced mocha with coffee ice cubes to coffees from around the world. I notice a spanish coffee with milk, espresso coffee with cinnamon and honey as well as an Austrian Wiener Melange (below) with whipped cream, honey, 2 egg yolks and 2 shots of espresso.
MW and I are not coffee drinks but we enjoy our drinks. MW goes for a hazlenut milkshake ($7) which is really tasty. I've forgotten how much I love hazlenut flavours. I highly recommend the hazlenut milkshake!! For a more traditional milkshake, I opt for the Banarama ($7) which has banana, honey, cinammon, yoghurt and milk.
For a more naughty breakfast - Sir Benedict ($16) is a toasted brioche bun topped with your choice of coffee rubbed roast pork, bacon, or smoked salmon with poached eggs, sauteed spinach, roasted cherry tomatoes and citrus hollandaise sauce. I choose the coffee rubbed roast pork which tastes flavoursome. The hollandaise sauce is light which is good as I sometimes find hollandaise sauce too heavy and rich.
Summary: Pop by into Monte Alto in Crows Nest if you are a big coffee fan and want to enjoy the good life of avocado breakfasts. Be sure to write a review to get a discount folks!! Enjoy!
