Stacks Taverna is a bar and popular eatery at lunch time in Darling Quarter. A group of us head to Stacks to farewell our colleague Anne Maree. There's quite a large number of tables of groups inside the venue and outside as well.
It's quite cold so we end up inside. As it's quite a busy Friday lunch time and the staff seem quite stretched looking after multiple big groups of tables. Before we arrived at Stacks, my workmate Nick said he would be running late but asked if we could order him a burger. He says the burger is amazing and is topped with onion rings and is highly recommended.
His recommendation painted a visual of a very tasty burger and therefore influenced a large number of my other colleagues. They see this burger on the express menu (ideal for a quicker work lunch) and suddenly there are 5 orders of the burger.
The burger arrives and I instantly get food envy. The Stacks Burger ($16) has a beef patty with melted cheese, tomato, beetroot, greens and chips and topped with onion rings. The burgers are quickly devoured.
I decide to order the prawn and chilli pizza ($20). The pizza arrives and then they have food envy. The pizza has a relatively thin base and is topped with generous amounts of cheese, spanish onion and prawns. The chilli is very subtle and I can't really taste any of the spice at all. I think about asking the staff for some additional chilli but give up after not being able to get anyone's attention.
It's quite a nice pizza otherwise.
