Something's Cooking in Alexandria is the local pizzeria and I can see people walking in and out ordering pick up pizzas on their way home. I love the smell of pizzas as I walk into any pizzeria.
Something's cooking are known for their pizzas and they have expanded their menu to also include pasta, schnitty and burgers. The most popular item are the pizzas though.
The pizzeria has a 90's feel to it in decore and menu. It makes me think of my childhood a little bit. Matt and I share tonight and we start off with a pizza, the Tartofu Pizza ($19) which has tomato, mozarella, field mushrooms, pork sausage, truffle oil and parsley. The pizza base is thin and crunchy and there's a large presence of mushrooms on the pizza. I could not taste any truffle oil and could not easily identify any pork sausage however upon closer inspection I could see it.
MW and I also share a carbonara pasta ($16) which has a home made sauce, garlic, bacon, mushroom, cheese and egg pasta. I love creamy pasta sauces. I think the pasta could do with a bit more seasoning but it's fine to eat otherwise with those fresh strips of pasta, mushroom and bacon bits.
The chicken and avocado salad ($16) is one to share. A nice combination of cucumber, cherry tomatoes, avocado and lettuce leaves. The salad is coated in a dressing that is slightly creamy.
Price: $20ish for mains
Location: 362 Mitchell Rd, Alexandria
Opening Hours: 11am to 9pm Tuesday to Sunday. Monday 11am to 4pm
Nice post and prices are reasonable. it's definitely be a best place to have delicious pizzas
