Tella Balls have recently opened up in Castle Hill and my mouth is watering! Matt is a huge dessert fan so I can tell he's really excited as well. As I walk in, I see a number of tables already with their desserts and I can't help but have a sneak peek. So what should I order?
The menu is quite extensive and depending how how big your sweet tooth is, get ready folks!
First up is the Tella Balls Slider ($10) is your donut made into a gelato sandwich. This particular slider had delicious nutella gelato. This is your must order dish if you love ice cream as there's a really delicious, creamy and thick. I love ice cream so I'm happy. It's very addictive.
The Old school crepes ($16) are original crepes with Canadian maple syrup with strawberries, whipped cream and is served with vanilla bean gelato. What a delicious combination. This dish is a great alternative if you've ordered enough chocolate dishes as the flavours are different with the fresh strawberries, vanilla bean ice cream and the maple syrup. The crepes were really nice and moist and a pleasure to eat.
There's also a very small savoury menu. Southern Fried Chicken Crepes ($10) has south fried chicken tenders with cheese, mixed leaf and house made sauce in a savoury crepe. This is a good option if you don't have a sweet tooth and your company want to get something sweet.
Summary: Treat your tastebuds to a sweet delight at Tella Balls. Matt's favourite Tella Balls dish was the Tella Ball Slider whereas I would have to go for the Old School crepes on this occasion - traditional flavours for the win. Recommend!
