Eat Box Now - Korean BBQ home delivery review

Mr Weekend Food Escapes is a massive fan of Korean BBQ and this is something we've not had during the pandemic. Eat Box Now contacted Weekend Food Escapes and wanted our honest review on Eat Box Now.
The delivery starts with a text message at the beginning of the day confirming the time period in which it will be delivered which stated it was 12pm to 8pm. I had plans and advised them I would be available after 3pm.

To confirm your delivery, you need to text back 1 to confirm or 2 to give authority to leave at the door. I replied a little later in the afternoon and my delivery arrived at about 6pm.  We have the small Korean BBQ box (For 2).

The small Korean BBQ box contains
  • 5 meat tasting platter
  • 5 salad large leaves with vegetable sides
  • 5 banchan sides
  • dipping sauces
  • rice
At the time of the review, this small Korean BBQ box was selling for $58.

As we look at the delivery contents, Mr Weekend Food Escapes comments that the meat looks really delicious and he is looking forward to tasting all the variety of meats. The marinated meat in particular, we anticipate to be the most delicious. The packaging is well set up as it separates all the components.

I love the experience of the Korean sides in particular kimchi. Mr Weekend Food Escapes doesn't focus on the sides as much - also known as banchan.

If you have a Korean BBQ at home then you are set, alternatively you can cook on the BBQ or on the stove top as an alternative. So Mr Weekend Food Escapes starts to warm up the BBQ. As the BBQ starts to warm up, I place the meat on the BBQ and the meat starts to sizzle. Ohhhh yeahh, I love the smell of cooking meat. All those flavours are sizzling away. The meat is now cooked.

Looking at the cooked meat, the meal kit was a great range of meat with both marinated and non-marinated options. There's chicken, pork and beef meat cuts which you can choose from including

  • Angus Beef Bulgogi
  • Wagyu Rib Fingers
  • Pork Boneless Riblet
  • Chicken Bulgogi
  • Chilli Chicken
  • Chilli Pork
  • Pork Belly
  • Marinated L.A Beef Rib

The package recommends to eat with the lettuce and then to dip in the sauces which I did. That was quite tasty and a good way to enjoy the delicious sizzling meats and enjoy the refreshing lettuce. Mr Weekend Food Escapes liked to alternate between eating the meats and choosing from the excellent range of banchan. He also paired it with a nice cold beer, although a good alternative would be the Lychee wine that comes with the set.

Mr Weekend Food Escapes notices that this experience replicated the experience in terms of taste like the real experience of Korean BBQ in person. In particular, he thought the beef was sweet and tender. He notes that the chicken was also delicious and flavoursome.

While Mr Weekend Food Escapes attempted to eat the entire kit in one sitting, the KBBQ won that battle. It ended up being a good amount of food for 2 people to share. I would recommend this package as the ideal way to eat Korean BBQ at home. This is a great way to have a tasty experience without the worries of covid-19 - convenient and delicious.
