Tara Sushi, Surry Hills

Tara Sushi is located in Surry Hills and is famous for their all you can eat for $39 (cash, card fee applies otherwise). You can choose unlimited plates of sushi, order hot menu items and you have a choice of one sashimi plate and one dessert plate.

Tara Sushi is a bit of a hidden gem, you could easily walk past, not knowing the value you could get from this delicious venue.

I arrive just before 12pm with a booking. I notice several others have come in with a booking too and only the odd person walks in. The venue is relatively small so I would suggest booking.

I'm here to try the $39 all you can eat (cash, $2 card fee applies otherwise). As I said above, you can choose unlimited plates of sushi, order hot menu items and you have a choice of one sashimi plate and one dessert plate.

Above is the beef teriyaki which is very flavoursome, below is the famous volcano roll which is a crab based sushi roll. There's lots of crunch on top, crab salad topping on top of crab sushi.

Tara Sushi is also known for their seared salmon sushi roll which I would recommend as well. For my one plate of sashimi, I choose salmon and tuna. My partner chooses Salmon and Kingfish. The sashimi is thickly cut and delicious.

Tara Sushi also has other favourites. I highly recommend the pork gyoza in a delicious sauce as well as the takoyaki. These dishes will bring flavour to your palette.

I am in need of iron so I continue ordering more beef dishes at Tara Sushi. There's the beef carpaccio which is very flavoursome, my favourite is the grilled beef though. I eat these dishes with some fresh seaweed salad off the sushi train.

Tara Sushi has a number of great sushi plates to choose from too. I enjoy this salmon and scallop sushi. I also order some drinks to enjoy, there's a few beers, wine and soft drink on the menu.

Tara Sushi has a few desserts to enjoy, there's the strawberry ice cream mochi, mango ice cream and crème brulee. It comes down to personal preference but I quite like the strawberry ice cream mochi!

Summary: Overall, I thought the all you can eat was of high quality and great value. My personal favourites were the sashimi, grilled beef and pork gyoza. The staff were really friendly and it was a relaxing atmosphere.

Book to avoid disappointment!
