The Wooden Whisk is located in St Leonards. They have a cracker brunch menu which is sure to delight the senses. I would agree with the Zomato rating of 4/5. There are some amazing and really hearty meals to devour at the Wooden Whisk. The decore is modern, the food is tasty and there are great specials, there is good service and there people who work there seem really nice.
The pulled pork benedict on sourdough with apple and tarragon hollondaise sauce (top photo,$18.90) is a nice fusion of breakfast and lunch. I thought this dish was very creative and inventive. The pulled pork is nice and moist and works well with the other components of egg, apple and hollandaise sauce. The eggs were perfectly poached. A definite recommend on this dish.
The breakfast grazing board ($16.90, below) is perfect for sharing with others. The platter looked delicious with goats cheese, avocado, double smoked bacon, poached egg, tomato relish, cherry tomato, basil with boulot white sourdough. I was loving the tomato relish with a bit of avo on the sourdough. I'd also definitely recommend this dish!
The Sauteed Field Mushroom (above, $16.90) is perfect for mushroom lovers. The mushrooms are truffle buttered, with garlic, marinated fetta, smoked pork, topped with poached eggs with sourdough toast.
There are also delicious looking desserts that taste like sugary heaven. The gluten free desserts are sourced from the little secret bakery. The coconut, lime and yoghurt cake is delicious and moist. The caramel slice was rich in caramel and chocolatey flavours. Both would rescue your energy levels in a heart beat.
Overall, I had a great experience at the Wooden Whisk. Great quality good that is a great start to the day! It can get a bit busy around 10am to 11am on a Saturday but come towards noon and you'll skip the crowds. Check it out. I'd definitely recommend this place.
