Radley's, Chatswood (Now closed)

Chatswood is known for it's delicious Asian food. If you are looking for a bit of a break from Asian food then I'd suggest you check out new venue Radley's. The owner, Jason Pope has successfully run a number of venues in Singapore for about 10 years. He is now bringing his wealth of experience and love of food to Sydney.
Radley's is located in Chatswood Chase, right next to New Shanghai. It's brightly lit up with a very sleek fit out. Jason aims to deliver high quality and wholesome food. He's not really one to play into gimmicks. The venue has a nice and brightly lit up.

This is reflected in the menu. There's a breakfast menu but given Matt and I end up visiting on Friday night, we look at the main meals and burger section.  I'm also glad to find out that Radley's is licensed. I've had a big week! I've finished work at 6pm on this particular Friday and rushed to head to Radley's. Matt enjoys a pale ale while I get into the red wine. Cheers!

As I walked in, I did notice one of their specials at the moment that caught my eye. The Kim Chi Sliders ($10) sounded amazing. They are served up with buttery-milk fried chicken which was perfect. The chicken was crispy and buttery - a combination which was definitely meant in your mouth. The American cheese was also a great addition. The kim chi was mild (thank god, because I haven't had a good run with chilli recently). Matt devours his slider very quickly and I can see him eyeing off mine. I eat all of mine though... next time Matt. I would highly recommend this dish. Make sure you try it and maybe we can get it on the permanent menu!

Next up, Matt and I share the Prime Rib Steak ($15 with hot chips). You can choose what sides you want with the steak and I decide to go with my food favourite - the chips. Chips are always my favourite.  First of all, the steak is huge and secondly for $15, you probably would get a high quality cut of meat like Prime Rib. You typically get a sirloin steak in most pubs for example. The meat is glistening in front of our eyes and Matt patiently takes photos before getting straight into the steak which is cooked medium rare. It's delicious and I've forgotten how much I like gravy. The chips are heavenly in the gravy as is the steak. This meal is very moreish. I can see Radley's becoming more popular as the warmer months come along.

I'm starting to get full but life is hard as a food blogger (just kidding). Next up is the giant Chicken Schnitzel ($12.50 with two side salads). The chicken is EPIC in size. I think it's probably twice the side of the average schnitty that I have at the pub. The chicken schnitzel has a really nice crunchy coating and moist flesh which is what you want. I think the real surprise for me was that I could not get enough of that side salad... that quinoa salad. I typically think quinoa is so so but the flavours in this salad were amazing.

Matt and I are discussing which is our favourite dish so far. I'm very full by this stage but Matt continues with the Classic Beef Burger ($12.50). The burger has black angus beef patty, bacon, swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, mustard and ketchup. It's served on a milky soft bun. For Matt, this is now his favourite dish because all the components make for a delicious burger. The burger looks fabulous but I am too full.

Summary: Overall, I think Radley's is a great little venue. I think it will be highly competitive against all the local cafes and pubs. The food is of high quality, simply cooked and delicious to eat.

My favourite were the Kim Chi sliders and the Prime Rib Steak. That butter milk chicken was perfection. I'd definitely go back and order that. The steak was also really melt in your mouth. Matt's favourite was that burger. I guess we'll have to go back to try the other burgers as well. The chips and gravy were good too.
