Ali Baba Kebabs 40th Birthday! Macquarie Park


Ali Baba Kebabs was established in Canberra in 1979! Holy Moly that's 40 years ago. Now there are 46 stores in Australia. Now they are celebrating their 40th birthday in 2019 with a huge promotion where you can scratch your way to big prizes. Matt and I are in our local shopping centre and decide to stop by in the food court to check out Ali Baba.

Dos Senoritas, Gladesville


I have been a long term customer of Dos Senoritas. I remember when they were located in this little restaurant on Victoria rd in Gladesville. They're now around the corner in a much bigger location. Matt and I dine early so we easily get a table.

Restaurant No.5, Alexandria


Restaurant No.5 have recently opened up for lunch service so I'm keen to see what's on the menu.  As I walked into Restaurant No.5, I can see it's a large open space that's beautiful decorated. I later find out that they have hosted small weddings in this space before.

Visit the South Coast! Shoalhaven Part 5 - Jim Wild's Oysters, Shoalhaven


One of the nicest discoveries of the Shoalhaven South Coast region are the delicious oysters and friendly locals. You may want to consider visiting Jim's Wild Oysters (call beforehand to make sure of opening hours) on your way to the South Coast Food and Wine Festival 14-15 September 2019. Jim's Wild Oysters is actually an exclusive farm that sells oysters only through their own shop and through to local restaurants. I am introduced to Jim's Wild Oysters thanks to Destination NSW.

Through an invitation from the General Consulate of The republic of Indonesia and Tourism Indonesia; I was hosted at a special launch which celebrated the Indonesia culture and flavours at the Sheraton Grand near Hyde Park. This is available 15th to 24th August at Sheraton Grand at Hyde Park.

Have you ever visited the Shoal haven region? It's a little region of the most delicious and fresh produce. For the first time, they are hosting the South Coast Food and Wine Festival on 14-15th September. All 60 stands will be from regional producers. This ensures the authenticity and character of the Shoalhaven region.

It's been a few years since I've been to Local Mbassy. I have fond memories of my last visit of hearty breakfasts and unique drinks. Local Mbassy is a hidden gem of a cafe located in Ultimo. Greenwood Chinese Restaurant, North Sydney


I head to Greenwood Chinese Restaurant my friend PH. Overall, I have to concur with some of the other reviews that Greenwood Chinese Restaurant is bit more pricey. However I don't know of any other yum cha options in North Sydney. You would have to head into the City or up the north shore. It may be a matter of demand v.s supply.

Happy Buddha Retreat, Blue Mountains Retreat



This is a delayed blog post. So after feeling quite burnt out, a friend of mine recommended heading to a Happy Buddha Retreat which is a yoga retreat in the Blue Mountains. I have not done any yoga for years but the idea of spending a few days in the Blue mountains sounded nice.

Visit the South Coast! Part 4 - The Treat Factory and Dairy Bar, Berry


I head to the Dairy Bar and the Treat factory in Berry. This is a cute little spot that not too far from the Berry grounds where the South Coast Food and Wine Festival will be held 14-15 September 2019.
I've been to the Dairy Bar and Treat Factory before but revisit again with some friends from Destination NSW and some fellow foodies I know. The Dairy Bar is described as "an udderly delicious" milk bar cafe. I couldn't help but chuckle when I read that on their website.

Nick's Bar and Grill is located on King St Wharf, beside a beautiful King St Wharf waterview. Water always calms me down and makes be feel relaxed so it makes for a perfect venue for a Sunday lunch.

Visit the South Coast Part 3: Coolangatta Estate and Monster Truck Big Foot Adventures


Coolangatta Estate is a charming winery on the South Coast of the Shoalhaven region. I had the pleasure of experiencing a wine tasting as well as a Big Foot Monster Truck driving experience up the Mountain Peak. I found this place, thanks to Destination NSW. Burwood Hotel, Burwood


Burwood is such a great suburb for tasty food. Matt and I recently have date night at Burwood Hotel. I've seen a lot of posts on instagram about a Boba creme brulee cheesecake dessert and also alcoholic boba bubble tea drinks so I was quite curious to be honest. I also vowed to share my experience with a dear friend of mine who has a fascination with bubble tea drinks.

On a moderately chilli morning, I have the brunch cravings so I head to Chambers Coffee cafe in Top Ryde. Chambers Coffee are known for their artisan brew of coffee beans.  They also have a delicious cafe menu to satisfy my brunch cravings.

As Matt and I can't resist a bit of luxury, we can't help but feel relaxed at Bangalay Luxury Villas. Destination NSW introduced us to these beautiful self contained villas located in Shoalhaven Heads (In the South Coast of NSW). The Bangalay Luxury Villas are also right next to a beach - the Shoalhaven Heads. Point 99 is located in Macquarie Centre. I've walked past Point 99 so many times and it's never really sparked any interest. It was only after reading a few reviews online about their burgers that I decided to check it out on a whim.

While it's cold, there's always a part of me that still craves delicious dessert and it won't stop me from ice cream! Oh Matcha! is a popular Asian dessert cafe in Regent Place. I've walked past here numerous times and it's always super busy.
