My food fantasies have come to fruition when Matt and I visit Niko's Kitchen in Dulwich Hill. Niko's Kitchen is located right next to the Dulwich Hill Train Station and is famous for their burgers, gyros and their vegan menu. I was a bit surprised about their vegan menu to be honest but curious at the same time.

Platia Greek Taverna, Top Ryde
I've walked past Platia Greek Taverna a few times and I finally stop by to try out their Greek food thanks to an extended invite by Around the Clock Foodie. It also happens I dine on one of their monthly event nights where there is zorba dancing! How exciting.

Zeus Street Greek, Drummoyne

The Gyros (above) is the Papou Niko Pork gyro. It has char-grilled pork from the Souvla with Aegean Slaw, caramelised onion, preserved lemon mayo and parsley. The bread is amazingly tasty, soft but textured. The combination of the pork and all the other ingredients just work. It is delicious and a massive favourite for some of my local friends. It will set you back $9.5.
I had the signature gyro, the Zeus Lamb (right). It's described as their signature slow cooked lamb with Aegean slaw, smoked eggplant, onion and parsley. This one will set you back $11.5. Another tasty Gyro! I've been told to stick to the Pork Papou Niko moving forward though. Below, are some alcohol options which will set you back $10 or so. Refreshing and sneaky lemonades on the weekend.
Make it a complete meal by adding the Feta and Oregano chips at $7.5. A nice staple side !! You may want to choose a side salad as well to make yourself feel less guilty. I tried the Village salad at $13.50 which had Tomato, cucumber, onion, oregano, olives, feta and lemon dressing. Not a must try but another dimension of texture for your meal.

For dessert, I quite enjoyed both the plan Loukoumades ($8.00) and the chocolate Loukoumades at $9.50. What is a Loukoumades you ask? They are typically known as Greek Donuts with honey, cinnamon and walnuts. The chocolate version has chocolate drizzled over the original recipe.
Check it out guys!!!
Prices: Gyros are $10ish, order some sides and it's probably $25ish per person

Mad Feed, North Sydney
The Mad Feed is incredibly popular for lunch in North Sydney. Also known as the Mad Greek, it has an extensive menu (below) of all sorts of meals, all for $10.
The like rate of 86% on Urbanspoon is well deserved. I would only suggest you get there a touch before noon to avoid a long queue of hungry North Sydney workers.
All the food is mass produced and then is collated on plates as the long queue progresses. The game of Mad Feed is generous portions, prepared quickly and getting as many customers through as possible.
The lamb souvaki (above, $10) comes with two lamb skewers, salad, potato and soft tortilla-like bread. It's delicious and a perfect meal to share for two women with average appetites. The meat has been well cooked but can sometimes be a bit dry.
For a slightly lighter meal, you may opt for the Calamari ($10) with your choice of two sides. I choose potatoes and salad. This is all complemented with a side of aioli.
I've also tried the chicken souvaki (above). I prefer the lamb but variety is the spice of life. I find that chicken tends to try be more dry than lamb.
The roast pork is very homely with gravy and a side of salad and vegetables (above). The chili beef is a generous serve of beef on a bed of salad below and my work colleague often asks for a tortilla bread (additional $1) to carb up the meal.
A cheap and cheerful place for lunch. Get in early!!
Prices: $10 per meal
Location: in the forum, 155 Miller St. Entrance is also available via stairs across from Berry Square Office Works.

Kefi Souvlaki and Pizza Bar, Kingsgrove
Gyro. Pronounced "yeeros", the very popular and brother of the kebab will send all sorts of foodgasms throughout your body. Kefi's is located nearby the Kingsgrove Train Station so it's very accessible if you're on the train or car parking isn't too bad in suburban Kingsgrove.
Bloggers will talk about former chefs of Perama and Xanthi bringing their special touch to Kefi's. I never had the pleasure of tasting the pork belly, baklava flavours at Perama but I'm very fortunate to enjoy the pork belly baklava gyro at $9.50. What a unique sounding gyro!
The pork belly baklava gyro (bottom left) had slow roasted pork belly, a date and pistachio paste and parts of baklava goodness. There is a light mayonnaise that brings everything together. Delicious and unique!!!!!
Nothing beats your traditional lamb gyro. The $8.80 lamb gyro (bottom right) was mouth watering and so satisfying on so many different levels. I am obsessed! Slices of flavoursome lamb, garlic mayonnaise, chips, tomato, parsley on beautifully soft and fresh bread. I love the food here. I would venture out all the way to Kingsgrove for the food.
Prices: $8-10 for Gyros
Location: 1/231Kingsgrove rd, Kingsgrove
