Business class, Emirates Refreshed Boeing 777


I recently had the pleasure of flying business emirates on a work trip. The trip starts with a complimentary chauffeur pick up from my home to the airport. Then I make my way through the airport straight into the Sydney International Emirates business lounge.

Toshiya Restaurant, Cremorne



Japanese food is one of my favourite cuisines of all time. Matt and I head to Cremorne for some Japanese food at Toshiya. The locals may be familiar with Toshiya as it's been operating in the area for almost 10 years. That's a great achievement!

Nova Mantra, North Ryde


Nova Mantra Indian Restaurant is located in North Ryde in the little strip of shops on Cox road. Once you walk in, you will see a lot of colour in a very elaborate decore. We are having an early dinner this particular Sunday.

I recently had dinner with my foodie friend Jackie from Does my bomb look big in this. We head to Jang Ba Tal which has two locations in Strathfield and Sydney CBD. We head to Sydney CBD location by entering the lift on Liverpool st, not too far from World Square.

Some of the FCBA crew and I recently check out Kobe Wagyu Yakiniku. I really enjoy eating with my FCBA crew as they are like-minded food lovers! I also enjoy meeting new people. Matt and I had date night recently at 1892 Espresso and Wine bar in Rozelle. It's a cold Friday night and as I enter, I can see small groups of people swirling their wine during happy hour. You'll see a cosy interior with large pieces of artwork to enjoy. I am introduced to 1892 via the Australia Good Food Guide. Thanks AGFG <3

More recently they have launched a new Autumn menu and have launched Friday night bar area where you can order cocktails and canapes. I've often walked past Eternity Cafe and have noticed it has been renovated with new owners. Eternity cafe is located just nearby Town Hall Station in Town Hall Square. I am invited with a group of foodies to check out their new menu. The menu is quite extensive and I am eager to try their food.

I've been to Ryo's many times and most locals in Sydney would know about Ryo's and how it is famous for its ramen. It's known for it's ramen rather than decore or anything else. I think it's a nice cheap and cheerful restaurant.

Bottomless Brunch, Bella Vista Hotel, Bella Vista


For those who live in the Hills District, did you hear that the Bella Vista Hotel is now hosting Bottomless Brunches on the weekend? Matt and I head to the hills to check it out. Matt and I both love a tasty cocktail. 

For $55 per person, you can get a shared brunch set (with a coffee, tea or juice) or you can upgrade and it will cost you $75 for bottomless cocktails with the shared brunch set (although you need at least 4 people to book this). 

I'm not sure if I've ever spend $55 on brunch as this seems a bit excessive but let's see what you get for your dollar!

Fans of the Rabbit Hole will be big fans of Wood and Smoke in Darlinghurst. The owner has taken the charm of Rabbit Hole and turned this into the new place to be for delicious cocktails and very easy to eat food.

Plage Restaurant, Cremorne



Plage Restaurant is casual fine dining with Japanese flavours infused with European taste and technique. This venue is fabulous as it show cases fine dining technique at a reasonable price point. I've been here several times and intend on having a function here. They regularly update the menu so let's see what's new. 

I am a big fan of Tomoyuki Usui's work, he's such a talented chef, very much worthy of the hat from the Australian Good Food Guide.

Mr Stonepot, Chatswood


After a random walk around Chatswood, I stumbled upon a queue of people at Mr Stonepot and decided that it was now on my list to try. The restaurant at Chatswood is located within a random shopping centre opposite Westfields. Within the shopping centre, there's a food court sort of area where they can serve you or you can also sit inside the restaurant.

Niko's Kitchen, Dulwich Hill


My food fantasies have come to fruition when Matt and I visit Niko's Kitchen in Dulwich Hill. Niko's Kitchen is located right next to the Dulwich Hill Train Station and is famous for their burgers, gyros and their vegan menu. I was a bit surprised about their vegan menu to be honest but curious at the same time.

Essence of North India, North Ryde


Matt and I have driven past Essence of North India in North Ryde several times and it's been on the list to try. We arrive on a Sunday evening and seated immediately.There's a big dining room of out dated furniture and a few chairs have tears in them. I'm not too phased as if the food is great then it doesn't matter about the furniture. But first I need to try the food.

The Calyx, Tomato Festival



The Calyx is a little oasis in the middle of Centennial Park. I love the escape it brings from the city. There's an exhibition at the moment called "Plants that Bite" with an array of carnivorous plants. They are beautiful and quite delicate in their own way. Matt and I are also invited to a special event held at the Calyx as part of the Tomato Festival on 17th February 2019.

Claire's Kitchen, Surry Hills


The invitation from Claire's Kitchen reads "Whimsical, lavish, eccentric, imaginative, join us for an evening of surrealist, fashion, theatre, food and deviant art. le SALON Dada, Liberate the IMAGINATION"  with support from the City of Sydney, Claire's Kitchen is hosting a series of pop up dinners with a twist. 

On an early Sunday evening, Matt and I eagerly enter Claire's Kitchen in Surry Hills as representatives of the Australian Good Food Guide. Something exciting is brewing! 


This series of Surrealist pop up dinners is created by Marc Kuzma (aka Claire de Lune) and is inspired by the Rothschild's lavish costume parties of the 1970's and the art of Salvador Dali, Joan Miro, Marcel Duchap and Rene Magritte. This dinner involves 6 courses and immersive entertainment art. Let me tell you more about my experience!

This is a delayed blog post!! I offered to buy my family lunch and my mother got to choose the venue. She choose the Merrylands Bowling Club. I've never been to Merrylands Bowling Club however my mother seems to be somewhat of a regular. We arrive at the venue where there is a slight line at opening time at 11:30am.

As I went just after xmas, there were lots of xmas decorations and xmas themed towels on the cruise. I really enjoyed this little towel family. Manjit's, Balmain


If you've strolled along King St Wharf, you may have noticed the very popular restaurant Manjit's at the Wharf. I discovered that Manjit's had originally opened in Balmain and has been there for over 30 years (since 1984). Wow! The locals must all know about this gem but it was my first time visiting this Balmain venue.
