Vic's Meat Market, Pyrmont

Weekend Food Escapes in particular Matt are MASSIVE fans of Vic's Meat Market. So when I recently found out they are open Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights with a new menu. I had to get there immediately! Woop Wooppp! Matt was looking forward to this all week when I told him we would be heading here on this particular Friday night.

I know Matt is excited as he looks at the new menu at Vic's Meat Market. The first thing that we both notice is the option of ordering a SNACK PACK. We order the Small Brisket Snack Pack pronto ($14). The Snack Pack has a layer of chips and is topped of smokey Beef Brisket. There's also a drizzle of tangy sweet BBQ sauce and a mild chilli sauce. I get my fork straight into the delightful dish. It's as delicious as I expected. The smokey meat is so superior compared to kebab meat. I love this dish and would recommend ordering this dish.

We also order the Burnt Ends ($10). This dish was previously only available on the weekend and depending on demand, they tend to run out. So when we ordered this dish on this particular Friday night, I could tell Matt was particularly excited because this is one of his favourite dishes. With the little wooden picks, I pick up one of the burnt ends. It's a bit crunchy on the outside with the flakey meat on the inside. Yum. Matt is in heaven.

There's also new sides to enjoy. First, there's the Mac and Cheese Chips ($7). The Mac and Cheese is contained in a crunchy crumb and is topped with parmesan cheese. If you like mac and cheese then you will be in heaven. That oozing of mac and cheese is creamy and warming. It's perfect for this winter-like weather. I expect this dish to be really popular.
There's also Chicken Nuggets ($7) if you are wanting another snack. These chicken nuggets are crunchy coated and remind me of chicken tenders. They are the adult version of the traditional fast food chicken nugget. Enjoy the cheesey sauce!

For something more substantive, there's also steak options including this grass fed steak and you can add sides like salad and chips to round out your meal. I also order the chimichurri sauce that is of Argentinian origin. Vic's Meat has premium meat so you can expect a premium steak. After all, it supplies many restaurants in Sydney.

Summary: I really liked the Snack Pack, Burnt Ends and the Mac and Cheese Chips. I'd definitely recommend checking this venue out for the new menu and is now open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.  Enjoy these new menu items along with their original menu of burgers and ribs! Matt was in heaven so I was happy too. Perfection called. Head to Vic's pronto for that smokey meaty goodness and enjoy a sneaky beer while you're there as they are licensed.
