Just 10 minutes from bustling Chatswood, Dazz and Melle discover their weekend food escape tucked away in the tranquil Roseville Marina.
It's a hot and sunny Saturday for an outdoor lunch, and we are relieved that Echo on the Marina provide undercover seating with fans and a nice cool breeze.
Dazz starts almost every meal with a cappuccino, and he's pleased his Vittoria coffee meets the mark. ($4.30)
Our table has a gorgeous view of the water, and we inhale our drinks along with the picturesque view of gentle green ripples of water, bobbing boats, and the occasional ducks or geese waddling by. All we can hear is the sound of summer crickets in the breeze, and it literally feels like we are on holidays!
To our delight our food arrives earlier than expected, and the Smoked Duck ($32) is a stunning standout. Tender duck is heightened with aromatic notes of orange, cinnamon and star anise, complimented with sweet potato, beans, and spanish onions. Highly recommend.
The melon prosciutto macadamia salad ($19) is a generous medley of thinly sliced sweet rockmelon, salty prosciutto, parmesan, peppery rocket, and macadamia nuts for crunch and texture.
Finished with just the right amount of balsamic vinegar for a touch of acidity, this is a salad that is well balanced in terms of ingredients as well as flavours. Recommend.
We opt for a cold jug of freshly made iced tea with mint, lemon and lime ($16), to complete our meal.
We are pleasantly surprised how tranquil, yet close to the city this waterfront restaurant is located. Highly recommend booking a table especially on the weekend for breakfast (till 11am) or lunch.
It’s finally time to head back to reality, beginning with a waddle back up the series of stairs to our free parking on Normac St. Just in case you eat too much, or aren't as mobile, the restaurant provides a unique 4 person outdoor lift, known as an ‘inclinator’ to and from the restaurant to Normac St. (We didn't use it though were quite tempted!)

Note in addition, customers can also visit via boat or kayak from the marina, to add to your weekend food escape!
Overall great views and ambience, comfortable seating and amazing food. We can't wait till our next weekend visit.
