Manjit’s Home - Gourmet Food at home

Manjit's is one of my favourite Indian restaurants in Sydney. You can read about my previous visits here. Manjit's has pivoted during the pandemic and now have a series of gourmet freshly sealed meals that you can purchase from IGA's, service stations and grocery stores. You can search where from this link.

Manjit's has a number of dishes in this "home range" including
  • Butter Chicken
  • Tikka Masala
  • Lamb Korma
  • Rogan Josh
  • Beef Vindaloo
  • Palak Paneer
  • Malai Paneer
  • Veg Birayni
  • Chicken Biriyani
  • Yellow Dal

Manjit's Home Range is a great way to have a quick meal at your finger tips but at a restaurant quality. I recently had the pleasure of trying this new range. Mr Weekend Food Escapes loves Manjit's food so he was eager to try the dishes, we end up trying three dishes (enough for three people) and having some left overs the next day.

I firstly eat some of the Malai Paneer which is a mild curry (good for the kiddies or people who like it mild) which is creamy in texure. The Paneer Cheese provides an additional soft cheese texture which compliments the smooth mild curry. I even give baby Benji a taste of the paneer and he nods in approval.

One of the most popular is the Butter Chicken which is the curry that seems to get a lot of attention because it's delicious and incredibly enjoyable for most people as it's mild in flavour. The Butter Chicken glistens as I take a few photos and then I devour it in a few bites. This is an incredibly flavoursome lunch I am enjoying.

For those who are not wanting a mild taste, I can suggest the Chicken Biriyani. The Chicken Biriyani has a spicy kick that will lightly dance on your tongue but it won't destroy you. The rice is full flavour and you will  taste moreish chicken pieces that provide textural contrast. It's also delicious.

Summary: Overall I really enjoyed the Manjit's Home Range. It's a great way to enjoy restaurant quality food that's been freshly sealed in your fridge. Just simply microwave and you've got lunch or dinner in a few minutes. My favourite dish that I tried would be the Malai Paneer but I have a soft spot for soft paneer cheese
