Fish and Lemonade, Manly

Fish and Lemonade is located on Manly Wharf and is my first venue that I visited now Sydney is out of lockdown. Hurray!! It's a sunny Saturday and I am looking forward to a dine in experience. When I hear the word lemonade, it makes me think of my childhood.

Fish and Lemonade is a casual eatery with outdoor seating and a few tables inside. There are many families and beach go-ers that casually walk in eyeing off the lemonade. There's loud music pumping.

Fish and Lemonade has a selection of lemonade (as you would expect with the name) so I eagerly select a lemonade blended with pineapple as a refreshing drink and Mr Weekend Food Escapes goes for the Stone and Wood Pacific Ale. What a nice way to start a relaxing lunch. Baby Benji sits in the baby chair and looks around at the surroundings.

I love seafood so I order the prawn skewer box ($18) which has two skewers and a side salad. I finely cut up some prawn pieces so Baby Benji can also enjoy. The prawns are buttery and dusted with some herbs. The side salad is simple which is crunchy lettuce in a light dressing.

I also share the Miso Salmon Poke Bowl ($16) which has glazed salmon, brown rice, cabbage, carrot, edamame, pickled onion, wasabi peas, kim chi, seaweed salad in a light asian dressing. I really enjoy this dish with all the different textures, flavours and it made me really miss kim chi. I recommend.

From time to time, there are promotions and on this particular day, there's a promotion for $1 fish tacos. I am a fan of crispy fish tacos and this taco was served up in a soft tortilla, with lettuce, tomato, parmesan cheese, cucumber, aioli and chipotle mustard. It's a bargain at $1 and was tasty.

For fried food lovers, there's the Fisherman's Basket to share ($30) which has 6 fish bites, 6 calamari rings, 4 southern fried prawns, 2 seafood sticks, 2 potato scallops, chips and sauce. I am a sucker for potato scallops so I eagerly go for a crunchy potato scallop followed up the calamari.

Summary: Overall, Fish and Lemonade is a nice venue for a casual lunch. It's a short walk to Manly beach so if you are looking for a sit down lunch, check it out! My favourite dish was the miso salmon poke bowl and it was hard to resist the potato scallops.
