Gyros and greek street food are very popular these days. George Calambaris has been promoting his Jimmy Grants franchaise and I was eager to try one of the famous gyros. Unfortunately the 62% like rate on urbanspoon or 3/5 rating on Zomato is right on. The fancy food court in the Emporium had a long queue of hungry patrons outside Jimmy Grants.
I opted for the mixed Gyros named "The Bonegilla" which is a combination of lamb and beef with chips, mustard aioli, onion and parsley. The Bonegilla was $9 and was overall disappointing. The meat was very dry and with the lack of sauce, onion and parsley - it left the experience very dry and lacking in flavour.
Suddenly Zeus Gyros came into my mind and made me really miss Sydney Gyros.
Price: $10ish for most gyros
Location: Within the Emporium in Melbourne CBD, 287 Lonsdale St, Melbourne CBD
