Oliver Brown, Lane Cove

Oliver Brown, the chocolate cafe is now in Lane Cove.

Oliver Brown has grown across Sydney as the demand for chocolate cafes is widespread, competing with Max Brenner, San Churro and a host of others for the love and admiration of chocolate lovers. Oliver Brown has a mix of waffles, sundaes, crepes, churros and gelato for your dessert pleasures.

I drop by to check out their new Lane Cove store.  I was eyeing off a few things on the menu but noticed the chocolate mountain caught my eye (top photo and below photo, $15). It's three gelato flavours. On the menu, it says three chocolate gelato flavours but I think I actually got chocolate, hazelnut and salted caramel which is a nice mix. It's got brownie bits and corn flakes for texture. Oh and some whipped cream and some wafer sticks. It's like the adult chocolate sundae.

For churros lovers, there's the churros for two (above photo, $12.50) which is a nice stack of donut sticks covered in icing sugar. The dipping chocolate came in dark and milk chocolate (apparently Belgium premium chocolate). I liked the mix of two chocolate sauces. Variety is the spice of life.

Belgium Waffle lovers will likely order the waffles for two ($13.50, above) which comes with chocolate drizzled on top with strawberries and vanilla bean ice cream. There's something delightful about this mix of flavours and textures. To cut through all waffle and churros; you may want to order a delicious drink. I got a salted caramel gelato thick shake (below, left $8) and the cookies and cream milkshake (below, right $7.8) I quite enjoyed the cookies and cream thick shake which was icey but had nice chunks of oreos.

So if you haven't been to Oliver Brown yet, check it out. Lane Cove is now open if you're a local but there's tonnes of other locations.

Weekendfoodescapes by Lisa dined as a guest of Oliver Brown. All photos, words and opinions are my own.
