Lot.1, Sydney CBD

Lot.1 is a lovely three level venue with sleek and modern interiors and with an inviting decore. I head here for lunch with KL for a quick lunch and debrief on all things in life and food.

Lot.1 is located on York St, not too far from Town Hall station. KL tells me that she often walks past in the morning and there is a massive coffee queue. The barista is a bit of a looker so it's probably quality of coffee and the service. KL also tells me that it's a lovely venue for a nice drink in the evening as well.

I decide to order a nice hot chocolate ($3.50). It's velvety smooth with a nice dose of chocolate. Similarly KL really enjoys her Chai Latte ($3.50) and comments that it was really high quality and smooth.

We look at the lunch menu which is Italian inspired full of panini, salad, pasta and other options. It's quite a small menu but I find myself being drawn to the Pasta Special which is  which is a linguini ($16) in a roasted tomato and veal sauce. Yum! As soon as the dish comes out, I can tell that it will be a high quality and delicious dish. The pasta tastes freshly made and that sauce is simple but delivers a nice depth of flavour and is very moreish. I highly recommend.

After being a bit naughty on the calorie front, I also eye off the organic chicken salad ($16) which arrives with roasted cauliflower, quinoa, parmigiano and a light balsamic dressing. This is not your typical chicken salad which is typically lighter with chicken strips. The chicken comes with the skin and chunks. There's also a generous amount of cauliflower. The dressing is light and not too over powering. I think KL was looking for a more classical flavour combination but I don't mind trying something different.

Summary: Lot.1 is a lovely venue if you want to stop by for a nice cafe style lunch or head there after work for a nice glass of water. A great place for date night!

I really loved the pasta dish! hmm yumm still thinking about it now. You must order!!
