Darcy St Project, Taste Food Tour, Tourist Edition Part 3

As part of the Taste Food Tours, I had experienced a lovely rivercat boat ride along with some treats on the way. This is part 3 of my experience where we stop by social enterprise Darcy St Project in Parramatta.
This tour is great for tourists that are looking to experience the mix of cultures in Australia. For those who do not know, Taste Food Tours is a charity organisation that looks to spread the word of cultural diversity through food tours that employ refugees or those who come from a diverse background.

Reza, our guide has lived a very interesting life. I managed to find out that he was born in Afghanistan then spent most of his life in Indonesia and then a number of years in a detention centre in Australia before being formally recognised as a refugee. Reza ponders life in the photo below, just outside the Darcy Street Project.

Darcy St Project is located in Parramatta in Horwood place which is in a small alley way. So what is Darcy St Project? It's a coffee shop which serves up cold drip coffees, your traditional coffees but with a twist.

Darcy St Project is also a social enterprise that looks to provide training opportunities for the underprivileged.

The taste food group and I all get a sample of their cold drip coffee. It's slowly filtered through the machine pictured below.

It's actually really nice to see two social enterprises collaborating to make a difference in society. Why not check it out?
