Pablo's Vice, Darlinghurst - NOW CLOSED

Pablo's Vice is normally known for it's breakfast and coffees but I head over to Darlinghurst to check out what's on for lunch and to try some of their tapas menu.

Pablo's Vice is located in Darlinghurst, just off the main strip of Oxford st. Pablo's Vice has also recently become licensed so if you're looking for that young henry's newtowner beer or a bottle of vino then you can relax with lunch or dinner with some booze.

Matt and I go for a smoothie and a shake. Green juices are not always known for being tasty, this green juice from Pablo's was quite sweet and enjoyable to drink though. Surely I'm being healthier by drinking this. Matt slurps away on his drink

Matt and I sample some of the tapas menu. First off there's the meat balls ($14) which is served up with sour dough bread and pickled cabbage. The Italian meatballs are quite tasty and flavoursome with a load of herbs. The thick tomato sauce is great to soak up with the bread. The pickled cabbage is interesting as I'm not sure if it matches the flavours of the meatballs.

Matt and I also munch on the sweet potato fries ($8) with aioli. The fries are crunchy and light and enjoyable to eat with the aioli. We also try the Haloumi Burger ($9) which has grilled haloumi, roasted pumpkin, caramelised onion, mixed leaf lettuce, tzatziki on a milk bun. There's too much tzatziki which overpowers the natural flavours of the haloumi, pumpkin and caramelised onion. I'd probably suggest ordering the burger with the tzatziki sauce to the side so you can control.

Summary: Pablo's Vice is a casual little eatery, make sure you stop by for lunch or try their new tapas menu. Sit back, relax and enjoy with a glass of wine. The meatballs were a highlight for me.The menu is reasonably priced too.

Price: Less than $10 for lunch items and tapas menu varies from $5-$22
