Waterview Cafe, Sydney Olympic Park

Waterview Cafe is located in Olympic Park, right next to the bike hire.
THICK FLUFFY PANCAKES ARE WAITING. With very little competition in the area, Waterview Cafe has a nice monopoly. I stop by for some breakfast with my fellow blogger QHL who suggested the venue.

The decore is relaxing with big comfy chairs. There's no table service so you have to order at the counter and you get a buzzer so you pick up your food. This makes it feel like less of a cafe and more like a cafeteria styled eatery.

The dish above is the smashed avo with mushrooms, poached eggs and feta on toast ($15.00). Below is the pancakes with berries and walnuts ($13.50).

Highlights: The pancakes were thick, fluffy and tasty with the maple syrup and berries. It's quite a sweet breakfast obviously so you must have a sweet tooth to enjoy this one. What a beautifully presented dish! I personally thought they were a bit too floury but I'll put this as a highlight as QHL thought they were great. I think the dishes are quite reasonably priced as well.

Suggested Improvements: It would be nice to have table service. Also, the smashed avo, egg and mushroom on toast looked amazing and was quite nice although I think the mushrooms were a bit bland, they were meant to be cooked in butter and thyme. Perhaps more butter, a pinch of salt and rosemary would have significantly improved the dish. All the other components were really nice.

Location: Bi-centennial Park, Sydney Olympic Park

Opening Hours: Mon-Sun, 8am to 5pm.

Summary: Lisa's Rating: Check it out if you are in the area. It's a nice casual cafe.

  1. We had an amazing event here this past weekend. We had a friend create some custom drink options that the bartenders served throughout the night and the designer easily collaborated with the space at Seattle venues to address her needs.
