Hukuya, Eastwood

Hukuya is best known for their Sashimi and Sushi platters.

I head to Hukuya in Eastwood for some fresh raw fish! I sit at the bar so I can see some of the sashimi and sushi action happening. I am eyeing off some of the big Sashimi boat platters that are being delivered.

I order the regular sashimi platter ($21.50, top photo and below photo) which has 16 pieces of salmon, king fish and tuna. The sashimi is nicely sliced and taste very fresh.

I also order the buckwheat noodle (hot, below $10) in a clear broth with seaweed and tempura pieces. It's nice and warm so it hits the spot.

As a side, I love a takoyaki ball (7 for $9, above) which is a potato and octopus ball that is lightly coated in a soft crumbed shell. It's topped with a sweet sauce and mayo. It's lovely!

Highlights: The sashimi is great! Fresh and enjoyable to eat. The other dishes are quite nice as well but the sashimi is the highlight.

Suggested Improvements: It's very busy and you may be seated at the bar where there's not much space. It felt a bit crowded. Also parking is difficult near by although it's near Eastwood Station.
