Adora Chocolates, Taste Food Tours, Tourist Edition Part 2

Taste Food Tours has a new tour which goes on the rivercat to Parramatta which is perfect for tourists or those who are new to Sydney. This is part 2 of the tour. Check out part 1 here.
After a nice light breakfast and a relaxing rivercat cruise from the city to Parramatta, we walk from the ferry wharf to Adora Chocolates.

As I walk in, I see lots of mountains of chocolate and big displays of chocolate. My eyes are excited by the sight of all the chocolate.

The group are treated to a delicious dark chocolate truffle. I bite into it and a hit of sugar hits the system. Matt has a huge sweet tooth so I generously offer him the other half of my truffle chocolate.

We're also treated to samples of a macadamia dark chocolate and also a wattle seed chocolate. As we sit down, our guide tells us about how this business started with two sisters in their garage. It's great to see that they have expanded since that very small and humble beggining. The chocolate is quite nice. I prefer the macadamia chocolate.

A number of the group start purchasing chocolates for their loved ones.

The highlight though is a sample of their signature hot chocolate. I've not had such a wonderful and delicious hot chocolate for quite some time. The sweet sugary hit is quite rich as you can taste the real chocolate coming through. You can buy a regular size for $4.50 and that comes with a chocolate as well.

Next up is a small walk where we get to see Parramatta's oldest tree and we get to spend some energy from all the sugar that we've consumed.

Make sure you check out part 1 of the tour. Here's an extract:

It's here we are met with our guide Reza. Reza explains that the Taste Food Tours is a registered charity and social enterprise organisation that looks to spread the word of cultural diversity and looks to employ refugees/migrants.

He himself tells us quite a story, being a refugee from Afghanistan fleeing to Indonesia for most of his life, he has been in Australia for a few years and for 3 years had no access to education. Once he was released from the detention centre, he sought to continue studying in high school but found it quite challenging given he had no schooling for the last 3 years. He was able to complete year 12 and is now pursuing studies at TAFE.

I instantly feel very grateful for my own life. Stay tuned for part 3.

Weekend Food Escapes dined as guests of the venue or their representatives. All photos, opinions and words are my own.
