Hurricanes is an institution and has a reputation for having the best ribs in Sydney. Almost everyone I know has been to Hurricanes. When was the last time you went? Let me remind you what you're missing out on.
I am a massive fan of the ribs at Hurricanes and also at Bare Grill. Matt's always a bit more excited when he gets to eat lots of meat and in particular when he gets to eat pork ribs. Matt and I head to Hurricanes in Darling Harbour. It's a really hot day and I'm thankful for the air conditioning as I walk in. There's a short line as I enter at 12pm and by 12:30pm the restaurant looks almost full.
We are seated with a really nice water view. It looks like the Sun has taken a brief break on this particular day.
I am wanting of refreshment so I stick to refreshing sparkling water while Matt goes for a cheeky beer. Hurricane's is known for their ribs but they also have many other options and I decide to order a delicious steak - the rump cap 200g ($28.50) with your choice of chips, sweet potato fries, salad or baked potato with sour cream. I go for the salad which comes out looking fresh, vibrant and nourishing. I feel healthy for choosing the steak and salad. The salad has a tasty basting and is deliciously grilled.
The saucey pork ribs come out looking so sexy and foodgasmic. Matt is licking his lips and is patiently taking beautiful photos before we eat and then he digs in and devours these ribs. The ribs are as awesome as I remember them and are definitely lip smacking. You need to order this ASAP. I would highly recommend.
To finish off, Matt orders some dessert. He orders a Creme Brulee ($12). The custard has a thin and soft top layer. I was hoping for a nice and crunchy top. The custard below is smooth and pleasant to eat.
