Unwritten is a little cafe in Boronia Park located on Pitt St Road. Matt and I are looking to try out new cafes and have driven past a few times.
Unwritten has a range of smoothies and on this occasion, Matt orders a Berry Patch ($7.50) made from apple juice, strawberries and blueberries. It's chilled with blitzed ice has slightly sour and sweet flavours at the same time.
For brunch, Matt orders the Breakfast Burger ($18.50) which has a poached egg, maple bacon, homemade rosti, avo and sriracha hollandaise. I've never seen a rosti on a breakfast burger before but I welcome the crunchy texture on the breakfast burger. You also typically see a fried egg on a breakfast burger but the poached egg is a nice change too. Matt enjoys the breakfast burger overall but thinks it could be better from a value perspective.
I opt for the Unwritten Corn Stack ($18). The two corn fritters are served with a poached egg, avocado, chilli jam, sour cream and your choice of bacon or smoked salmon. I enjoy the corn fritters that are visible with loads of corn. I also like the avocado is served whole sliced avocado.
