Rubyo's, Newtown

When I realised Rubyo's also did brunch on Sundays, I decided to come back for a double date. Rubyo's is a gorgeous venue so it's always nice to visit.

Rubyos have an amazing special on Sunday which is called the Grazing 4 course menu for $25. Amazing value. You may need a hot chocolate/coffee before you start drinking. Otherwise...

The $25 four course Sunday Grazing Breakfasts consists of
- Breakfast cocktail
- Breakfast Bruschetta
- Eggs benedict
- Ricotta pancakes
- Seasonal fruits

The mimosa and bellini cocktail is a great way to start the meal. I have the mimosa which has orange juice with champagne.

Now let's get to the food. It starts off with a a breakfast bruschetta (below) which has a generous portion of rocket on top. Once you brush that off you will get a nice slab of bacon and tomato on avocado. It's a nice way to start the brunch (one per person).

Next up is the eggs benedict. I love the creamy hollandaise sauce as it always contrasts with the fresh smoked salmon. I'm really enjoying this grazing menu so far.

The next dish is the ricotta pancakes with rhubarb and a blueberrie sauce, served with syrup and ice cream. I absolutely love pancakes and consider this to be a great treat.

The final dish is fresh seasonal fruit with honey yoghurt which was refreshing. The grazing breakfast is great as you get a small portion of a broad variety of breakfast dishes. Love it and it's great value for $25.

My inner former vegetarian really enjoys the "Vegetarian Big Brekky" which has two eggs (I asked for them to be poached) with haloumi, spinach and hash browns ($17). I love a bit of haloumi for breakfast.

MW prefers a more traditional breakfast - so he orders the "old fashion fry up". It's two fried eggs sunny side up with crispy bacon, oven roasted tomato and hash browns. This sounds more ideal if you have a hang over!!!

Highlights: The $25 grazing breakfast is fabulous and has a lot of great variety. It's my favourite!!! I love the eggs benedict and the pancakes in particular.

Price: $20ish for breakfast/brunch

Location: 18-20 King St, Newtown / Darlington
