Mapo, Newtown

Mapo is an ice creamery located on King St Newtown. It’s New Years Eve and we’ve had 21,000 covid cases today. Mapo is my only outing today as I’ll be celebrating quietly at home. With the current pandemic, I’ve been able to get parking really easily in Newtown.

Mapo is a tiny shop so basically only one customer can enter at a time. The ice cream flavours change frequently which makes for nice variety. On this occasion, I decide to get three flavours in a cup which costs $9.

La Favola, Newtown

La Favola is located on King St Newtown and its shop front is unassuming. It's mostly by word of mouth where people will know about the quality of food at La Favola. On this particular day, I end up sitting outside to enjoy the people watching and numerous people stop and comment on how great the food looks.

I've walked past Kerasma in Newtown several times without really knowing what sort of restaurant it is. It's not a Greek Restaurant, they serve up food from Cyprus. Yes, Cyprus is a different country. The name is exotic and means "the offering". So let's see what's on offer then from Kerasma.
