Andiamo Trattoria Del Popolo, Chippendale

I had the pleasure of checking out Andiamo Trattoria Del Popolo in Chippendale recently. They are a casual Italian eatery known for their pastas and pizzas. Wow!!

Andiamo Trattoria Del Popolo is situated on Kensington Street. Andiamo Trattoria Del Popolo's is the latest addition to this revived part of Sydney in Chippendale.

To give you an insight into what Andiamo Trattoria Del Popolo is all about, this is what one of the owners - Joe said:

We try to provide an honest traditional Italian meal, our menu showcases a raft of different flavours”

The menu is rustic italian - Fresh made food, something for everyone! Our stonebaked pizzas are artisan made and our sauces are slow simmered” adds co-owner, Val.

Let the feast begin at Andiamo Trattoria Del Popolo!! YES!

I start off with the spinach & ricotta fritters with gorgonzola rosa sauce. Lisa really likes this dish as the homely flavours remind her of a family dinner. What a great start to the feast at Andiamo Trattoria Del Popolo.

THE SALSICCIA pizza (top photo) has toppings of cured italian sausage has a tame fire, contrary to what you would expect from the Calabria region its derived from. Paired with gooey bocconcini on a hand made base, becomes the perfect choice for any meat lover!

For some of the seafood lovers - especially Lisa - they enjoyed both the Spaghetti Marinara which is a traditional favourite. Lisa loved the Andiamo Trattoria Del Popolo mussels with white wine, shallots & cream. The sauce is not too rich and subtly tames the seafood taste of the mussel. I highly recommend this dish.

THE GNOCCHI is a beautiful pillowy textured potato pasta lathered in a cremosa of white wine and luxurious truffles delicately sauteed and weaved in. Absolutely exquisite!  I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS DISH. This is a must order dish.

TIPPED TO BE THEIR MOST IN-DEMAND SIGNATURE at Andiamo Trattoria Del Popolo is the Tuscan slow cooked lamb which has been set in seasoned marinade for 24 hours. They've cooked this dish to my personal preference, where the meat is soft and tender, pulling away from the bone (this dish doesn't have one, but you get my drift) but doesn't completely fall off! Absolutely perfect!!! I could eat one whole share plate of this.

The fit out of Andiamo Trattoria Del Popolo is on-trend of with many other spaces at the moment, 'industrial chic' of exposed ducting, pipes and uber cool light fittings. Long wooden table arrangements, open kitchen and feature art walls themed to the historic street its on. For long time fans of Andiamo Trattoria Del Popolo, you will feel a sense of familiarity with the same collage of framed pictures that decorate the feature wall, blending the old and new giving Chippendale unique flair.

The service was one word. Seamless. Across all three outlets, there's a high standard that has been set by one of the most iconic service attendants from their premiere location in Summer Hill, Kevin.

Summary: Embodying the passion and richness of the cuisine and customer experience – they've done well to replicate this level of attention to detail in the new generation of attendants hosting our table, led by the lovely Ines. I absolutely loved the food at Andiamo Trattoria Del Popolo
