Oliveto Ristorante, Rhodes

Oliveto is an Italian Restaurant with water views in Rhodes.

I was eager to check it out Oliveto as it looked like a nice restaurant with a touch of posh.
The complimentary bread arrived (left) and I pondered on what to order. The staff recommended the special for the entree which was a San Daniele salad (below, $22.50) of prosciutto, rocket salad and cheese (I think it was mozzarella). It was a nice way to start the meal. Fresh but a simple combination of ingredients.

For main I ordered the duck (above, $34.50) which is cooked two ways with orange, baby beetroot and fennel salad. The duck is cooked perfectly and tastes delicious, nice and pink in the middle and moist in the mouth. This is a very light main so ideal for those who want to eat light. Perhaps not ideal for those who are hungry.

I also tried some of the Parma Pizza (below, $22.50) which is a proscuitto based pizza with olives, cherry tomatoes, rocket and shaved parmesan cheese. The base is nice and thin (pictured below) and again, very simple ingredients were put well together as the topping. I enjoyed the pizza!

For dessert, I shared the profiterole (below photo, $16.50) with pistachio ice cream, vanilla and chocolate sauce. What a dessert to eat with your eyes! It's pretty sexy. The pistachio ice cream was delicious. A nice way to finish the meal. Overall, I had a nice experience at Oliveto. They have a sister restaurant in Leichardt so truly deep Italian roots lie within this family.  It's also in the entertainment book so I thought a nice discount just made the deal sweeter.
