Visit the South Coast! Berry - Part 1

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Shoalhaven region on the South Coast of NSW. It's been a few years since I've been to Berry but I am eager to revisit as I have fond memories. It's also great timing as the South Coast Food  and Wine Festival is on September 14-15th 2019 and this trip gave me a sample of what great regional food and wine exists in Shoalhaven.

Duck Duck Goose, Randwick

Duck Duck Goose has a reputation for being child friendly with kids menu, a play area and changing table for the babies/kiddies and having good food and coffee for the adults.

I think I've found a new favourite when it comes to chicken burgers. The special (above photo) Southern Fried Chicken burger was AMAZEBALLs.

Original Chocowrap, Burwood

The original chocowrap is a new food truck located in Burwood. Think of delicious dessert wrap / kebab / crepes that you'll taste with hazelnut shavings from the Italian imported chocolate roll.

I love my wine but distilled vodka is also a great addition to any wine tour. Next on my Zepher tour is the Hunter Distillery.

Hotel Bondi, Bondi

Hotel Bondi, as the name would suggest, is a hotel located on the main street at Bondi Beach with a large bar and bistro on the ground floor to accommodate hotel guests, locals, and beachgoers. Recent renovations to Hotel Bondi have brought an open, warm and modern air providing a relaxing environment to eat, drink and be merry. In addition to the renovations, the bistro menu has also had a facelift which I had the opportunity to try out.

Bare Grill, La Perouse

Bare Grill is famous for their burgers, particularly popular with the "fatties burger" appreciation society on facebook. However there's more to this little eatery then meets the eye. I check it out on a sleepy Sunday. Yes, that's a gay time freak shake below. Oh yeaah.

Lombardo’s Restaurant and Bar, Dural

On a cold Friday night, I was invited to Lombardo’s in the Hills district. As you might expect with a name like Lombardo’s much of the menu has a Mediterranean flavour with a Modern Australian twist.

Pizza Autentico, Surry Hills

Pizza Autentico has a great deal so I suggest you come here hungry, ready to eat lots of pizza and pasta. Above is the 4 cheese gnocchi which caught my eye.
