Danny's Seafood Restaurant, Le Perouse

Danny's Seafood Restaurant is located along the beautiful coast of Le Perouse. Seafood lovers will be delighted.

On a relaxing Sunday, I head to Danny's Seafood for a waterside lunch. Danny's attracts a slightly older crowd. There seems to be a lot of regulars as I notice tables around me calling the staff by name.

Sundays are all about relaxation and a cheeky drink. I sip on a cosmopolitan ($25, above) while I look at the menu which is full of seafood dishes, steaks and desserts.

The greek salad (small, $11, above) is quite a generous portion and is recommended to share for the table. It's a fresh mouthful and slightly creamy from the feta.

The smoked salmon ($20, below, above) sits on a cup of lettuce to retain it's hill shape and is accompanied with a caper and mayo sauce, bread and small salad. It's fresh and light on the stomach.

For those who want to something a more naughty, the crumbed prawns on the bed of saffron rice ($22, entree size) is lovely. The prawns are lightly crumbed and contrast well with the soft fluffy rice. The menu says it comes with tartare sauce but I got tomato but it still seemed to work. The salty tomato sauce cut through the fried prawns.

There's always one person that doesn't eat seafood. For that person, I suggest the vegetarian pasta which is a ravioli in a napoletana sauce ($26.50, below, above). It's a smaller portion than anticipated so perhaps pair this up with some garlic bread.

Fish lovers will be absolutely excited by the choice on Danny's menu. The lemon and butter sole fish ($33.50, above) was a really great portion as it's the whole fish. The fish flesh was so buttery with subtle hints of lemon. It was very melt in your mouth. You'll need the greek salad to cut through some of the flavours so it's not too buttery.

For dessert, I had the Lemon Lime Tart with a side of ice cream ($12, above). This tart was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend it! It's subtly zesty with lemon and lime flavours. For crepe lovers, there's the banana and walnut crepe with ice cream and chocolate sauce ($12, below).

Overall, I had a nice experience at Danny's Seafood Restaurant. The highlights were the lemon sole fish and the lemon and time tart. The decore is a little bit out dated but you won't notice once the food comes out! Make sure you check out Ompty as well as they have discounts on Danny's and others in the area.
