Mille Uno, Parramatta

I grew up in the Parramatta area and noticed a change on the main strip of Church St. Mille Uno has opened up - a new Italian Eatery as a new venue, new owners, new menu and chefs from the former restaurant Liana's.  The fit out is modern and new.
Matt and I have been invited along with some other foodies and influencers to check out the food at Mille Uno. I start chatting away with the table about all things reality tv.

Matt soaks up a Peroni Beer while I sip on a glass of red wine in anticipation for the Italian feast ahead of us.

We start the meal with some bread. Oh Bread, it's my weakness. This is the Wood Fired Caramelised Garlic Bread ($5.50). This garlic bread is so delicious as the texture of the bread is perfection which is nice and crusty on the outside and with a strong garlic flavour.

Please note we were served in a group setting so portion size may differ.

Next up is the Squid. Five spices dusted squid, house chilli mayo ($11.90). The squid is lightly crumbed and is full of flavour although in parts unevenly crumbed. I am a sucker for calamari so it's hard for me to resist. I'd recommend.

I also help myself to some Garlic and Chilli prawns served with grilled sourdough ($15.90). The prawns really swim in the thick sauce. The sauce is plentiful and quite thick. I've eaten so much of that lovely garlic bread but I go back for seconds to accompany the prawns.

It's time for some pasta! We share some of the fettucini boscaiola with bacon, mushrooms, shallots, cream ($26.50). The pasta is coated in a generous amount of cream and there are subtle bacon and mushroom flavours. This dish is enjoyable to eat.

Matt prefers the Bolognese with traditional beef ragout ($26.50) as there's more depth in flavours with the tomato and beef sauce. I taste both pastas and have to agree that this one has more flavour however I generally love a white cream sauce in pasta.

We also try some of the Tropicale Pizza  with tomato, mozzarella, smoked ham and pineapple. There's a generous amount of cheese and with chunks of pineapple and sliced smoked ham. I personally love pineapple on pizza. The pizza base is delicious and wood-fired which is what I enjoy.

I'm completely full by this stage but there's another dish of rump steak that comes out. Matt goes for a piece whereas I sit on my stomach full of carbs. He says the steak is well seasoned and enjoyable to eat.

Summary: Overall, I really enjoyed the meal at Mille Uno. I think the quality of the food will give the other venues a good run for their money. My favourite dishes were the garlic bread and the pizza! Why not check it out!
